Advocacy and ICLEI events affected by COVID-19

Due to the COVID-19 crisis, many in-person events relating to local and regional governments and sustainability have been cancelled, postponed or in some way impacted.

ICLEI is compiling a list of events affected by the pandemic that are relevant to our network. This list will be updated regularly based on the latest information available.

UN Bonn Climate Change Conference (SB52), scheduled for 1-11 June in Bonn, Germany, is postponed to 4-12 October.

Daring Cities 2020, scheduled for 3-5 June in Bonn, Germany, will be taken online from 7 to 28 October.

European Music Forum, scheduled for 4-7 June in Bonn, Germany, is cancelled.

Beyond 2020, the World Sustainable Built Environment Conference, scheduled for 9-11 June in Gothenburg, Sweden, is currently suspended.

MOBILIZE 2020, scheduled for 10-12 June in Pune, India, is cancelled.

IUCN World Conservation Congress, scheduled for 11-19 June in Marseille, France, is postponed to 7-15 January 2021.

Commonwealth Heads of Government Meeting (CHOGM), scheduled for 22-27 June in Kigali, Rwanda, is so far proceeding as planned, but organizers are monitoring the guidance from the World Health Organization to guide decision-making on the event.

Latin America and the Caribbean Climate Week, scheduled for 6-10 July in Santo Domingo, Dominican Republic, is postponed to 2021 with a new date to be determined.

Asia-Pacific Climate Week, scheduled for 24-28 August in Yokohama, Japan, is postponed to 2021 with a new date to be determined.

European Conference on Sustainable Cities and Towns, scheduled for 30 Sep – 2 October in Mannheim, Germany, is so far proceeding as planned.

UNFCCC COP26, scheduled for 9-20 November in Glasgow, UK, is postponed to 2021 with a new date to be determined.

Middle East and North Africa Climate Week, scheduled for 6-10 December in Dubai, United Arab Emirates, is postponed to 2021 with a new date to be determined.
